1st Tenby Sea Scout group enjoyed a lovely day out at Explore at Bristol on Saturday, November 21, where we completed our science badge (writes Owen Rogers).

We set off from the Salterns car park at 6.45 on our Silcox coach. We arrived in Bristol for the 10 am opening.

First we watched a science demonstration with lots of explosions, bangs and whistles. We then had time to explore the exhibits on show. Then we went upstairs to a classroom where we did two tasks set for us.

For the second task, we had to see who could make the highest electrical voltage using lemons, potatoes and different types of metal strips.

The two Tenby groups won this challenge which meant that we had to stand up and explain to the other groups how we had done it.

Next came a sit down for lunch and then another sit down in the planetarium for the night sky display. We then went back to the main hall where we were presented with our science badges.

After spending our money in the shop, it was back to the coach for our trip back to Tenby.

On the way back, we stopped in Crosshands for some chips.

We all agreed that it was a brilliant day out that we all enjoyed. We would like to thank the leaders who took us.
