Pembrokeshire's schools will break up for Christmas this year one day earlier than previously announced.

The last day of the autumn term will be on Thursday, December 20, and not Friday, December 21, as previously arranged.

The change has been made to accommodate the one-off Bank Holiday on Monday, June 3, 2002, to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.

Earlier this year, it was agreed that what would have been next year's May half-term holiday will now be held a week later during the first week in June, 2002.

Next year's Spring Bank Holiday has been moved from the last Monday in May, to Tuesday, June 4, 2002.
