Neighbourhood Policing Teams throughout Pembrokeshire are urging parents to think about safety when taking their children to school.

Despite pleas, parents are still putting their children's lives at risk by parking illegally and inconsiderately during the school run. The Neighbourhood Policing Team in Tenby has highlighted the problem as a priority for this month.

Parents should not park on double yellow lines and prohibited areas surrounding schools in Tenby.  PC Trish Dixon said: "There will be zero tolerance by police as it is feared there will be a serious accident involving school children.

"All identified offending vehicles will be given a fixed penalty notice immediately and vehicles causing dangerous obstructions will be towed away.

"Areas of particular concern for us are outside St. Teilo's School, Tenby Junior and Infants Schools and Greenhill Secondary School.

"There are other options available, walking, cycling, car sharing, to reduce congestion during peak times and there are car parks near all the schools."
