Pupils at Tavernspite CP School are helping to build a greener, cleaner, more environmentally friendly future, that's the view of local AM, Alun Davies.
Tavernspite CP School came runners up in the Eco- School programme which plays a vital role in helping young people make a major contribution to Assembly Government priorities on tackling climate change and reducing waste.
Alun Davies AM said: "I want to congratulate the pupils and staff at Tavernspite School on their hard work in winning this award. The eco-schools scheme is leading the way on tackling climate change, with pupils in schools like Tavernspite getting together to assess the impact they're making on the environment and climate, and working out ways they can change.
"Tree planting, growing organic vegetables and setting targets to increase the number of pupils walking to school are just some of the ideas pupils have come up with in Eco-Schools.
"I am fully behind the scheme and it's great to see young people in Pembrokeshire and indeed right across mid and west Wales taking this issue as seriously as they are. Climate change demands action today and our local schools are showing us all the way to a greener, cleaner future for all."
