A trio of Pembrokeshire school friends have embarked on a sponsored walk to raise funds to help those facing dire circumstances as they attempt to flee the Ukraine.

The girls - Mia, Lucy and Chloe aged seven to eight, were asked to bring food donations to their school, Lamphey Primary, to help refugees and this got them thinking. Having previously undertaken a charity cake sale to raise funds for Junior Arthritis, the girls wanted to go 'the extra mile' to help again and decided to undertake a sponsored walk around Stackpole.

Along with their teddies, knitted in Ukrainian colours, they completed the walk last week, walking just under 5 miles.

The girls, who collectively have raised over £300 and plan to continue their fundraising efforts, remarked: “We heard in school about the children having to leave their homes and wanted to help.”
