Five Pembrokeshire schools are to feature in a major film festival.

Templeton CP, Pennar Infants, Roch CP, Ysgol Glan Cleddau and Ysgol y Preseli, are all shortlisted for National Schools Film and Animation Awards.

Representatives from the five schools will attend a glittering awards ceremony in London later this month.

"This is an amazing result for Pembrokeshire schools, which have at least one film shortlisted in every category," said Clr. Huw George, cabinet member for children and young people.

"No other county in the UK has managed this!"

Templeton CP School's film Don't Look Now is a finalist in the Key Stage 2 Animation category; Pennar Infant's Y Siarc, Mr. Blaidd and Y Dolffin is a finalist in Key Stage 1 Animation; Roch CP School's What Happens to our Waste, is a finalist in Key Stage 2 Film; Ysgol Glan Cleddau's Beth Sydd Wedi Digwydd i'r Fforestydd Glaw? is a finalist in Key Stage 2 Film and Ysgol y Preseli's Homeless is a finalist in the Key Stage 3 Film category.

The schools first premiered their films in the Pembrokeshire Schools Film and Animation Festival in July. Fifty-three films and animations took part in this year's festival, which aims to give schools the chance to celebrate their work and view it on the big screen.

The national award ceremony will take place at the British Film Institute on the Southbank on November 25.
