Greenhill School pupils - with the exception of Year 12 (Lower Sixth Form) - are to return to lessons on Monday (September 10) and not yesterday (Thursday) as originally planned. Headteacher Chris Noble stressed it was not the fault of the contractors engaged in the new building work at the school. He said: "Only by delaying the first day of the school year will we be able to make best use of the excellent new facilities that have been built and ensure the safety and well-being of our students. "Year 12 students should return to school on Friday when their induction day will take place." The building work, which has been taking place over the school holidays, includes new rooms for Design Technology, IT and Special Needs pupils, as well as enlarging existing classrooms.
