WE are delighted to confirm that the group running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 16 to raise funds for Tenby Junior School were all successful with their challenge.

Three of the group had never run the distance before and were rightly thrilled with their achievement.

The group are also over the moon at the sum of money they have raised, a massive £1,374, with some pledges still outstanding.

As promised to head teacher, Mrs. Jan Llewellyn, £1,000 will be set aside for the school's new electronic library system. The group have decided that they would like the remainder of the money to be spent on new sports wear for the schools teams, including the cross ccountry team. They think this is apt, as the money was raised in a sporting event and it might also encourage pupils at the school to take up a sporting hobby or set themselves new sporting goals.

Louise, Andrea, Wendy, Emma and Rob would like the thank everyone who sponsored them and especially the people of Tenby who dug deep when they walked around town days before their run, with their buckets collecting donations; their extreme generosity was overwhelming!
