START is delighted to have received a further cheque from Tenby Junior School to add to the marvellous donation the children made to the appeal earlier this year. With this contribution, START has now raised £45,000 in the six months since it was founded. "The situation in Tangalle has changed little," explained START founder, Paul Cowper. "There is still no evidence of the general aid money getting through. People are still in need of the help they receive from private aid agencies. We have helped to refurbish and equip a hospital ward and we are eagerly awaiting a shopping list from the school with which Greenhill has twinned. "We are planning further twinnings as we know that a number of primary schools are keen to get involved. "If others can show the commitment of Tenby Junior School, then I am sure we can raise sufficient money to undertake a building project. "We have good contacts in Tangalle. Schools desperately need more accommodation with the overcrowding caused by the destruction of schools in the Tsunami. So please keep the money coming in."
