Mayor-designate for Narberth in 2014-15 is Clr. Mrs. Sue Rees.
She was the unanimous choice of her colleagues to succeed Clr. Mrs. Ruth Platt when council met on Tuesday evening.
Clr. Mrs. Rees was proposed by Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers and seconded by Clr. Eric Feetham.
A councillor for 16 years, Clr. Mrs. Rees was previously the town's first citizen in 2001 and 2003 and says she is extremely honoured to be elected for another year.
"My husband John will be my consort again and I must say that without his support, I would not be able to carry out any of the work I do for the community," she said.
Clr. Mrs. Rees's main objective this year will be to save Narberth Swimming Pool for future generations to enjoy.
She explained: "We have been offered a 125-year lease from Pembrokeshire County Council, but we need to raise £200,000 from the public, so that we can install a biomass system and PV panels to make the business sustainable for at least the next 20 years.
"Our plans are then to access grants to improve the facilities and enhance the pool to make it better than ever. We need to raise the money from the community because we would then be eligible for FIT payments from government which will give us the sustainability that we need to ensure that the pool will be a success for the long-term."
Deputy Mayor-designate is Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers who was the only councillor to throw her hat into the ring when each member was asked if they wished to stand for the position.
She was proposed by Clr. Mrs. Platt and seconded by Clr. Mrs. Rees.
The Mayor-making ceremony will take place at the council's May meeting.
