Saundersfoot native Daisy Coleman, has been awarded the prestigious 'Role Model of the Year 2025' accolade at the Welsh Veterans Awards.
This recognition, sponsored by the Forces Employment Charity, celebrates Daisy's extraordinary journey from overcoming adversity to becoming a beacon of hope and inspiration for veterans and service personnel.
Daisy is Mission Community’s Armed Forces Engagement Lead. Mission Community, founded in the history of sister charity Mission Motorsport, is dedicated to supporting veterans, service leavers, and their families as they transition into civilian life and beyond.
Daisy’s remarkable journey is a testament to her resilience, leadership, and commitment to supporting the Armed Forces and veterans community.
Medically retired from 32 Regiment Royal Artillery in 2013 after serving 9 years and completing tours of Iraq and Afghanistan, Daisy has faced and overcome life-changing challenges.
Despite a non-boating background, Daisy was introduced to the sport of powerboat racing by Mission Motorsport, and, through sheer determination and skill, has gone on to win two British Championships, a USA Championship, and a World P1 Powerboat Championship up until the COVID pandemic.

Alongside her sporting achievements, Daisy has had a very successful career in her civilian day job as a consultant in the defence sector. She continues to punch above her weight, excelling both in her professional career and as a semi-professional sportswoman, showcasing her exceptional resilience and drive in both fields.
In 2020, Daisy’s desire to give back to her community led her to buy a derelict farm in Pembrokeshire, where she founded Redberth Croft CIC.
While the farm was purchased in 2019, Redberth Croft CIC was only formally established as a social enterprise in 2024. The farm has since become a sanctuary dedicated to empowering veterans and others facing complex challenges.
At Redberth Croft, Daisy has worked tirelessly to create a supportive, inclusive community that fosters personal well-being, promotes sustainable living, and helps others overcome social isolation.
Her dedication to running activities for those at risk of social exclusion and delivering seminars on overcoming adversity underscores her deep commitment to making a lasting, positive impact.

Capt. James W John RLC, 157 (Welsh) Regt RLC, in his nomination for Daisy, stated: "Daisy's story is one of exceptional resilience and leadership. From a rebellious past to military service, injury recovery, and becoming a global champion in powerboat racing, Daisy has surpassed all expectations.
“Now, as the founder of Redberth Croft CIC, she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans and others, exemplifying the values of the British Army in every aspect of her work."
As spokesperson for Mission Community said: “We are honoured to have Daisy as part of our team. Her dedication to empowering others and her unwavering spirit continue to inspire those around her, making her a true role model not just for veterans, but for anyone facing life's challenges.
“We are incredibly proud of Daisy for receiving this well-deserved recognition and look forward to continuing our work alongside her in supporting the Armed Forces community,” they added.
