THOMAS MEMORIAL CHURCH

The family service this Sunday, at 11 am, will be conducted by Pastor Peter Morgan.

METHODIST CHURCH

In Sunday's reading from Isaiah 45, verses 1-8, God appoints Cyrus 'to conquer nations.' Cyrus was not a Jew, not even believing in a God, but God used him to help Israel who at that time were slaves.

The epistle was from 1st Thessalonians chapter 1. Paul set-up a church there of non-Jews. Despite Jewish opposition, they had become an example to believers in Macedonia and Achaia, for their faith.

In the gospel reading from Matthew 22, verses 15-22, pharisees' disciples try to trap Jesus regarding taxes. But Jesus in response says pay the Emperor what is his and to God what belongs to him. The preacher, Deacon Janet Jenkins said the real message from his passage is that everything belongs to God.

On Sunday morning at 11 am the service, which included Holy Communion, will be taken by Rev. David Murfin. All are welcome.

Hebron Baptist Church

Mr. Anthony Standing was the worship leader last Sunday. It was a Mission Sunday. Rev. John Hendy and his wife Janet, directors of Ukraine Christian Ministries, were in attendance. Rev. Hendy read Psalm 145. The pianist was Miss Helen Standing and Rebekah Chatwin played the flute. Mr. and Mrs. Chatwin were the welcome stewards.

Mrs. Hendy took the congregation on a trip to Ukraine with pictures of the extreme weather conditions and the homes and villages where they have been giving support and ministry over the past 16 years, while Rev. Hendy spoke about the changes over the last 100 years. This Sunday at 11 am, the speaker will be Mr. Anthony Standing. The young people will have activities in the hall during the message. There will be no mid-week meetings this week.
