Beach Rover, September 14: Eleven anglers competed, with four weighing in - 1. Merv Brace with a bass of 1.68kg (£30 and 10 points); 2. Jon Brace with a bag of LSD for 840g (£15 and eight points); 3. Tony O'Neil with a bag of flounder of 800g (£5 and six points); 4. Chris Watkins with a bag of 610g (four points). Golden Peg was Carol Tew, who did not fish.
Beach match covering Pendine, Morfa Bychan and Marros on September 28 (sponsored by John Davies, of Suregas. Thanks also to Rob and Becky, of The Mulberry, for providing a platter of delicious sandwiches at the weigh in): Eighteen anglers competed, with six weighing in - 1. Jon 'The Dog' Brace with an LSD of 880g (£100 and 10 points); 2. Terry Hunt with a bag of 1.61kg (£50 and eight points); 3. Tony O'Neil with a bag of 860g (£20 and six points); 4. Rob Collins with a bag of 770g (four points). The only competitors who caught real fish - George Barritt and Carl Gunning - came fifth and sixth.
Golden Peg was James Canton, who did not fish. I've forget how much the prize fund is 'cos I haven't got that many fingers, but it is enough to buy an American investment bank!

Forthcoming matches: Sunday, October 19 - Night match at Lydstep Beach, sponsored by Tony Ormond. Meet at Lydstep by 5.30 pm, fishing 6 - 10 pm, weigh in on site by 10.30 pm. £50 min first prize.
Sunday, October 26 - Tenby Open. SSAC will have a match within a match - £1 entry for SSAC, points as normal. Check details in respect of Tenby Open for fishing times and venues, SSAC weigh-in is outside the Ex-Servicemen's Club in Tenby by 3 pm. NB - Only members who have contacted Carl Gunning or Jon Brace prior to the fishing times will be eligible for SSAC prize money and points.
