SUNDAY RACING

Last Sunday there were 10 dinghies prepared to take to the water and once out of the harbour the actual strength of the wind could be felt. The course was set at MAH x 3; the 505 and Fireball completed the full course that was shortened to allow the Toppers to finish after two laps. Only these four dinghies survived the course, with the remainder of the fleet retiring gracefully, but they had all sailed extremely well in the conditions.

Chris Johns in his Topper took third place, Govan in his Topper was second and John and Paul in their Fireball were first.

There will be two races this Sunday starting at 2 o'clock; we look forward to seeing you all out on the water again.

WHIST

It was great to see such an excellent turnout for whist last Monday and good to welcome holidaymakers into the game as well; it is such a happy group of people that it is a pleasure organising the evening for them. We still have room for more players, so please do come along and join us - it would be great to see some of our own club members playing!

This weeks results were: Highest score - Heather B; 1st lady - Juanita; 2nd lady - G. Irvine; 1st gent - Frank B; 2nd gent - V. Burrows; booby - M. Atkins; longest sitter - D. Potter.

SOCIAL

Don't forget the club is open on Friday evenings at 8.30 pm and Sunday lunchtimes from 12 until 2 pm. Do come along and join us for a drink and chat: snacks available from the galley on Sunday.
