Giving an update on developments at Saundersfoot village park, county councillor for the south ward Cllr Chris Williams said in his report recently to the Community Council that improvement work being carried out, would make the area a safer environment for anyone using sports and social facilities.

He said that over four months ago a grant from Visit Wales through the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority was secured, as he had identified concerns regarding the traffic driving too fast and the number of cars entering the sports field, passing the play park.

“I met and put this forward to Saundersfoot Community Council to install a safety barrier that will sit outside the park, this will ensure a safe access to all visiting the park or entry on and off the sports field,” he said.

“Part of this grant will be the installation of a new barrier that will be positioned on the road up to the changing rooms.

“This barrier will prevent overnight parking and ensure that parking behind the village tennis courts will be for those playing cricket, football, bowls, as well as users of the Sports and Social Club and Regency Hall users on busy days,” added Cllr Williams.
