St. Issell's with Amroth Mothers' Union

A very successful 'Coffi Cymraeg' by members of the St. Issell's Mothers' Union Branch was held at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, on July 10. The ladies, dressed in national costumes, gave added colour to the occasion, and the aroma of freshly cooked Welsh cakes filled the air, encouraging many visitors to partake and enjoy. Proceeds were in aid of branch funds. The next regular gathering of the St. Issell's Mothers' Union will be held on September 11, with a service in St. Issell's Church. At this meeting, a programme for 2007/2008 will be announced. St. Issell's annual Fun Night will be on Wednesday, July 25.

BLOOD PRESSURE DAY

The Rotary Club of Saundersfoot is running a Blood Pressure Day tomorrow (Saturday). This will be held at the Tourist Information Centre, Saundersfoot, between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm. The aim of this event is to raise the public's awareness of the link between high blood pressure, strokes and heart disease. This service is free of charge and anyone can go along to have their blood pressure checked.

METHODIST CHURCH

The parable of the Good Samaritan was the subject of Ladonna Mallams' sermon on Sunday. Jesus told this story in response to a question from a teacher of the law - 'Who is my neighbour?' The priest would not risk becoming 'unclean' by touching what could be a dead body. The Levite perhaps was afraid of being attacked himself. But the Samaritan did not think of himself or any danger in his good neighbourly act of helping the man. This is a lesson for us; we should not only be helping our neighbour when it is easy, but at any time. This Sunday morning at 11 am the service will be led by Mrs. Pam Passmore. A warm welcome is extended to all.

Open-air services

St. Issell's Parish will be starting their open-air services at Saundersfoot Harbour this Sunday at 7.15 pm. The services will then be held every Sunday evening until the end of August.
