The  village of Saundersfoot is getting ready to celebrate the St. David's Day weekend by serving up its Food and Craft Festival.

Now in its eighth year, the event features two-dozen stalls in a heated marquee on the seafront, offering seasonal, Pembrokeshire and Welsh produce to taste and buy, along with local crafts.

The festival - organised by Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism - would not be complete without its Cawl Cooking Championship of the World... and Elsewhere. The contest is judged on the vote of the greedy public who are invited to 'cwm cawling' at local eating establishments.

The championship takes place between 11 am and 3 pm on the first day of the festival, Saturday, February 28, when the marquee will be open between 10 am and 6 pm.

St. David's Day, Sunday, March 1, will feature cookery demonstrations and the marquee will be open between 10 am and 4 pm.

There are still a few vacancies for stalls, and anyone who would like to take part should contact Madge Wills on (01834) 812610.

The Saundersfoot St. David's Day Food and Craft Festival is supported by Pembrokeshire County Council, the Welsh Assembly Government and Planed.
