Saundersfoot Community Council has voted against the latest application for a traveller site on the outskirts of the seaside village, siding with residents' concerns.

The application [Reference: NP/25/0536/FUL] for the creation of one traveller site at Froghall Yard, Moreton Lane came before members of the Community Council for consideration at their most recent meeting.

A representative spoke on behalf of the residents of Incline Way, whose properties back on to the property concerned. They stated that the scheme is essentially the same as the previous application submitted, and refused, earlier in 2025.

Although enforcement action had been prepared by the National Park, it has been paused until the outcome of this latest application is known.

The Community Council chair, Cllr Alec Cormack confirmed that resubmitting a planning application is permitted and any comments made on the previous application will need to be resubmitted on this new application.

“Resubmission of a planning application is a legitimate strategy. Any comments made on the previous application will not count and comments will need to be resubmitted on this new application,” explained Cllr Cormack.

“Redacted information in the application is only available to the decision makers on the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s planning development management committee. No members of the public nor Saundersfoot Community Council have access to the information.

“If the Community Council objects to the planning application, then the decision at PCNPA will be made by the committee, not a delegated decision by the planning officer.”

No one spoke in favour of the proposal and members of the Community Council voted unanimously to oppose the application.

Cllr Rosemary Hayes cited reasons given last time as being still in effect, recommending that the Council move to object to the application, again on the same grounds as last time.
