In the week that Her Majesty The Queen celebrated her 90th birthday, councillors and residents of Saundersfoot commemorated the event with a big village and beach clean on Saturday morning.
Organised by the community council, participants met at The Regency Hall in brilliant sunshine. Thirty adults and children took part and gathered 33 bags of rubbish from around the village and beach.
Clr. Phil Baker, chair of Saundersfoot Community Council, was extremely pleased with the response from local residents and has suggested that a similar event should be held in the village on a more frequent basis.
A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time on Saturday morning to take part. Thanks also go to Glenville Codd and Kate Daly, of Pembrokeshire County Council, for providing the special bags, safety equipment and arranging for the bags to be taken away afterwards.
