League presentation evening

Saundersfoot Bowling Club was full last Thursday evening for the annual Pembrokeshire ladies league presentation evening.

As winners, Saundersfoot Ladies hosted the evening, which began with vice-chairlady Ann Lewis welcoming members from clubs around the county.

She then handed over proceedings to MC for the evening, chairman of the league, Gloria Dugmore.

Gloria called upon league secretary, Di Davies, of Pembroke Dock, and together they presented Saundersfoot Ladies captain, Gemma Amos, with the winner's shield.

Gemma and her team were congratulated on their success, with special praise for Gemma, who at only 18, is believed to be the youngest captain to top the league.

After receiving the shield, Gemma thanked everyone for attending the evening, before thanking her team members, with extra thanks to her mum, Steph, and nan, Phyllis, for their help and support.

Gemma also thanked Ann Lewis and her helpers for preparing the buffet that followed and Brian, Bill and Paul for manning the bar.

After everyone had enjoyed the delicious savouries and mouth-watering puddings, a feast of entertainment provided by the ladies of Saundersfoot, Haverfordwest and St. Issell's brought the event to a rousing finale.

All in all, it was another happy and successful occasion at Saundersfoot Bowling Club.
