Welsh evening

A near capacity gathering of members and friends enjoyed Saturday's Welsh-themed social evening.

Decked out in Welsh flags and daffodils and with a number sporting their red jerseys, the clubhouse was a blaze of colour.

Everyone enjoyed the broth made by Ann Lewis, Anne Davies and Chris Haley, who donned some fetching daffodil hats to serve those present! There was also delicious bread, cheese, Welsh cakes and bara brith to add to the festivities.

Macky Brace organised a successful quiz, with the winners being 'The Untouchables' (alias club chairman Paul Blayney, Kath Blayney, Ceris Hewlings and John Roberts). Joint second were Myrddin Dennis and Co and Maureen Worcester and friends.

Alwen Hughes then sang a selection of Welsh songs which had everyone humming along - and cheering for an encore at the end!

The evening was brought to a conclusion with the raffle - thanks to Kath and Ceris for selling the tickets!

Club chairman Paul Blayney thanked everyone for attending, the two Anns, Chris and their helpers for organising the evening and preparing the food, Macky for the quiz, Alwen for singing and Brian Deeley for manning the bar, and concluded by wishing everyone a 'Happy St. David's Day.'

Men's meeting

There will be a meeting for all the male members of the club this Sunday, March 8, at 11 am, to discuss the forthcoming season. All are asked to make every effort to attend.
