New Year's Day
Saundersfoot Bowling Club was bursting at the seams on New Year's Day when the club welcomed a large number of members and friends after the swim. Ann Lewis and her merry band of ladies made delicious cawl, while Brian Deeley and helpers served behind the bar. Club president, John Evans, wished everyone a happy New Year and thanked Ann and Brian and their teams for their efforts. Among those to take the plunge were the club's own Macky Brace, who was raising money for Pembroke School's autistic unit where his grandson Jamie attends. He was joined by fellow Tenby bowlers Simon Evans, who went in with Macky for the school, and Jonathan Webb (raising money for Wales Air Ambulance). Also joining Macky and Simon in their fund-raising for the school were a quartert of Whitland bowlers - Cally Jones, Selwyn and Liam Price and David Jenner, who proudly showed off their medals and enjoyed the festivities in the club afterwards. Also warming-up after the swim with much-earned sausage and chips were young John and Tom Mansbridge and mum Sarah, who were part of the Roman invasion from Saundersfoot School.
