AMONG the five Pembrokeshire producers to win gold awards at the True Taste awards was Sarah Miller, who collected gold in the condiments and chutney section for her Green Chilli and Tomato Salsa.
The judges, as well as being impressed by the taste, were also incredibly complimentary of the unique presentation and marketing of the product range.
Sarah, who is based from home at her smallholding in the parish of Lampeter Velfrey, has been developing a new fledgling business supplying a bespoke range of preserves, chutneys, salsas, marmalade and curds that cannot be found anywhere else.
Where possible, Sarah grows as many ingredients as she can, including soft fruit, vegetables, chillies and roots. However, this time of year where it is difficult, she buys from local producers such as Barry Hathway, Angle Farm, and is in dialogue with Springfields for fruit - keeping food miles and carbon footprint to an absolute minimum and keeping the Pembrokeshire pound in Pembrokeshire!
'Sarah Cooks your Homemade Pickles and Preserves' can be found at the St. Clears Farmers Market every Friday in December; the Queen's Hall, Narberth, tomorrow (Saturday) as part of the Pig Street Craft Collective; the Guild Hall, Cardigan, on Saturday, December 11, and then back at the Queens Hall again on December 18, again as part of the Pig Street Craft Collective.
A webshop is under development and will be ready early in the New Year, meanwhile Sarah does supply customer orders from home if required.
