The Rotary Club of Saundersfoot held a children's sandcastle competition on the village's beach last week. The competition was free to enter and parents were encouraged to accompany and assist the younger children. All of the youngsters that took part received a prize. The first and second prize-winners received a more generous prize. The competition lasted for about an hour and was kindly judged by Mr. and Mrs. Corns from Northampton. The sandcastle competition has been an important part of the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot's summer programme for over 20 years. During this time, hundreds of youngsters have enjoyed the occasion. The next children's sandcastle competition will be held on Wednesday, August 15. The event will take place on Saundersfoot beach and will start at 10.30 am. The competition is free to enter and parents are encouraged to accompany and assist the younger children. All of the youngsters taking part will receive a prize. There will also be a more generous first and second prize. The competition will last about an hour and will be judged by a couple, chosen on the day, who are not associated with Rotary or the children involved.

First prize was awarded to Charlotte, Cristobel and Lisette from Gloucester.
