Natasha was one of the crew who sailed HMS Pickle from Milford Haven to London. HMS Pickle is a replica of the original ship that was in the Battle of Trafalgar and because of its speed it brought the news of the victory and of Nelson's death back to London.
The voyage was undertaken to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh awards. Eighteen pupils from Ysgol Gyfyn Dyffryn Taf divided into two crews sailed the ship from Milford Haven to London via the south west peninsular and the crew was changed at Weymouth.
The second crew was accompanied by headmaster Robert Newsome. The second crew sailed along the south coast and up the Thames to Tower Bridge. Later, all the crew attended a celebratory dinner at the Royal Naval college at Greenwich.
Natasha gave a very interesting talk accompanied by her own slides - Natasha is an accomplished photographer - and described some of the highlights of the voyage which included sightings of dolphins, porpoises and basking sharks, one of the biggest sharks in the sea.
Her talk was greatly enjoyed by the Rotarians and she was thanked by vice-president Robert Elward. Headmaster Robert Newsome thanked the club for the financial assistance given by the club to support the venture.
