LOCAL singer/song writer and author, Ruthie Thomas, has re-released her Christmas carol 'Blissful Starry Night' for schools, churches and individuals over this Christmas period, free of charge.

Ruthie wrote the words and music for the carol several years ago, specifically for a Kensington school children's choir, where it was performed and recorded with lots of liveliness and fun.

"The idea was to write a Christmas carol that was upbeat, with a fun feel that the children would enjoy singing. I would love the people of Pembrokeshire to share and enjoy it too," said Ruthie.

Now, for the first time, 'Blissful Starry Night' has been offered to a wider audience here in Pembrokeshire.

Ruthie's carol reflects the true Christmas message saying: 'On a blissful, starry night; Beneath the glittering multitude. Mary's boy stirs on the hay. It's his very first day. Just one day old Mary's baby is. Smile on His face. Hurray for the human race. One day old baby Jesus is...'

The original CD featuring 'Blissful Starry Night' was supported by Blur's singer/song writer and record producer, Damon Albarn, though this is not presently available.

Ruthie's latest CD, 'Heaven Direct', is available locally at the Caldey Island Shop, Tenby; and on-line via Cross Rhythms.

'Heaven Direct' is highly recommended and described by Michelle Hinde, Tenby, who says: "This lady has such talent; this CD should certainly be on everyone's Christmas list!"
