TENBY-based theatre company, Green Ginger, returns to Wales Millennium Centre's Weston Studio in November with their world renowned puppets, animated sets and absurd humour from November 3-4. Directed by Flick Ferdinando and with original music by Simon Preston, Rust is the tale set off the Welsh coast of two pirate radio stations anchored in the same murky coastal waters. One transmits from an ageing lightship; its arch-rival broadcasts from a submarine lurking just beneath the oil-slicked surface. Green Ginger's co-writer and performer Chris Pirie explained: "The show has a couple of fiery Welsh characters. One is called Lionel the Vinyl, who owns the local record store, and the other is the local preacher and factory-owner, Rev. Evan Jellicoe. You'll have to come and watch the show to see what they get up to! "We represent Wales all around the world and have been to far away destinations such as Tokyo and California to raise the awareness of Wales and its cultural exports. We are thoroughly looking forward to performing at Wales Millennium Centre for the second time." Award-winning Welsh export Green Ginger is currently celebrating 25 years of touring its brand of lunatic fringe theatre throughout the world in 13 languages. Terry Lee, who formed Green Ginger in 1978 in Tenby, made a name for himself with film and television puppetry, working as a manipulator and voice artist for ITV's successful satire Spitting Image and as a puppeteer for Jim Henson's Dark Crystal (1982), Labyrinth (1986) and Frank Oz's Little Shop of Horrors (1986). Rust, suitable for 10 years and over, will show on Friday and Saturday, November 3 and 4, at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 and to book, call the ticket office on 08700 40 2000.
