Yvonne Jones, church secretary of St. Mary's Church, Pembroke, was delighted to receive a letter from HM The Queen last week.

It was a thank you following the church's flower festival which celebrated the Queen's life in the summer.

"One of the activities that visitors undertook was to write a personal message to the Queen," said Yvonne.

"Both young and old participated in this and we had over 100 letters/notes posted in the 'Royal' postbox.

"At the end of the flower festival, I packaged up all the messages and sent them to Buckingham Palace with a cover letter.

"I have now received a lovely message from the Queen (see photograph) which I am sure your readers who attended would like to read."
