SUGARCRAFT students from Coleg Sir Gar were invited to prepare a cake for presentation to HM Queen Elizabeth II during her recent visit to Llanelli.
Students Diane Harrington from Penally and Margaret Howells from Carmarthen, who are currently following a sugarcraft course at the college's Pibwrlwyd Campus, Carmarthen, were delighted when asked to prepare the Royal cake.
The creation of the cake took 12 weeks from design to delivery, with the hard work of the students being evident with a truly majestic result.
Diane said: "The challenge was both a privilege and a pleasure and we were honoured to be given this opportunity."
Margaret said: "We decided to base the design on a four nations theme to symbolise the Queen's reign and incorporated regal colours, symbols and dates to emphasise the significance of this being her Golden Jubilee year."
