Sincere thanks once again, to all persons of Tenby town, New Hedges, St. Florence, Jameston, Manorbier and Penally villages. The amount of Poppy Appeal donations reached an incredible grand total of £9,400 for the 2013 campaign (November 2013 to October 2014).

Special mention must be made of the outdoor collectors: Miss Margaret Brown £268.36; Mrs. Anne Barton £266.37; Mr. Gordan Prime (RBL president) £222.72; Tenby Sea Cadets £1,045.10; Tenby Army Cadets £505.18;

All schools collectively raised £641.31.

There are too many shops and businesses to mention, but all have had thank you cards with individual amounts raised during 2013.

We thank again the nurses of Park House Residential Home, who braved the cold water at Saundersfoot for the NYDS (2014), £600, plus £750 from Saundersfoot Festivies Committee was the top-up addition. Just as important are the children of Puddleducks Nursery, who made the poppy headwear which completed the theme.

Cwm Deri Vineyard shop in Upper Frog Street has raised over £265 throughout the year with 'plastic bag' donations filling the large all-year-round poppy box on its counter.

So, please continue to support this worthy cause in recognition of the sacrifice made.

Finally, it would be appreciated if all wreaths could be collected from the De Valence Pavilion by today (Friday, November 7). Opening hours are 9 am - 4 pm.

Chris Morris, RBL branch chairman, and Ross Morris, Poppy Appeal organiser.

Footnote: Sunday's remembrance parade will march to the War Memorial to the bagpipe tune, The Bloody Fields of Flanders, composed during the First World War, and following The Act of Remembrance, will march off to the tune, The Battle of the Somme, this being usually played.
