The Rotary movement has for several years sponsored young people to attend the Rotary Young Leaders (RYLA) camp in South Wales to promote the building of personal self reliance and leadership skills. This year, the Tenby Rotary Club would like to receive applications from young people aged 16-18 who have participated in local activity groups in the town and have demonstrated that they would benefit from further training. The Rotary club of Tenby pays for two places at the camp for one week from August 7-12. They also arrange transport to and from the venue. The course is in the fashion of an outward bound camp and specialises in physical and mentally challenging tasks which aim to help candidates grow their own capabilities. The Rotary Club also award every year the Mallow Shield (together with a prize) for the individual or organisation making a significant contribution to the life of the community. The shield is awarded in June and nominations are welcomed. Applications for the above should be addressed to Tenby Rotary Club, c/o The Royal Lion Hotel, 1-2 High Street, Tenby.
