ONE of the last pleasant duties carried out by the president of Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club, Derek Williams, recently, was to present a cheque to Phil Thomas, of Ty Hafan, the Welsh Children's Hospice.
Ty Hafan, situated at Sully, Cardiff, provides respite, palliative and end of life care for children who suffer from conditions which mean, sadly, that they will not reach adulthood.
In thanking the club, Phil Thomas outlined the unique caring role that the hospice, which is not funded by government, carries out in the welfare of children all over Wales.
