The Rotary Young Leader Award is presented, each year, to candidates throughout Britain who successfully complete a rigorous course at specialist centres across the country.

Bryony Ellen Rees, a pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Taf, Whitland, who was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland, was recently presented with a certificate to mark her achievement.

In her address to the club, Bryony described, in depth, her adventures during her five-day course at Dolygaer Outdoor Education Centre in the Brecon Beacons.

Activities included potholing, abseiling, canoeing, hill walking, rock climbing and a host of other arduous character building tasks.

Bryony thanked the club for the opportunity to participate and said that, although strenuous, she had enjoyed her experience immensely which would be of great benefit to her in future.

She was presented with her certificate by president-elect Ted Davies, who thanked Bryony for her presentation and congratulated her on her success.
