To mark World Polio Day 2022 on Monday, children at Narberth School donated £1 for wearing purple, which raises five vaccination towards Polio.

Pupils painted ‘pinkies’ to signify that they had all been vaccinated and planted crocus in the school’s Sensory Garden, and were joined by members of Narberth and Whitland Rotary Club for the day.

Rotarians Mary, Ken, Nigel and Meryl all attended the occasion.

“Our thanks also goes to Hotel Plas Hyfryd in Narberth for turning purple for the week,” said Mary.

For every £1 raised, Bill and Melinda Gates match fund 2:1, making a £3 donation to eradicate Polio.

Currently there are 29 cases worldwide in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Malawi.
