Paul Harris started Rotary International over 100 years ago and the movement has grown to 1.2 million members worldwide.

Individual Rotarians can be honoured by the awarding of a Paul Harris Fellowship in recognition of distinguished service in the movement.

Patrick Jones received this honour some years ago in recognition of his continuous effort to further the aims of Rotary in Narberth and Whitland .

Due to his continued work in the club, the members decided that he should be awarded the further honour of a Sapphire Pin. This is a rarely awarded honour and Patrick is only the third member of the club to be given this award.

President Graham Haddleton surprised Patrick, and the members of the club gave him a rapturous reception.
