A couple killed in a double fatal road tragedy last week have been named by police.

They were Susan Valerie Fagen, aged 63, and 71-year-old Gerard Alphonsus Fagen from Login, Whitland.

Five vehicles were involved in the accident which occurred at around 4.25 pm on the A40 between Dryslwyn and Llandeilo. The vehicles involved were a silver Vauxhall Meriva, a blue Peugeot 307, a grey Mazda motor caravan and a HGV and a DAF lorry.

The silver Vauxhall sustained high impact damage from the other vehicles.

As a result, both driver and passenger of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision or were travelling on the particular stretch of road at the relevant time to contact Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit on 101.
