RNLI lifeguard, Oli Simon, has come first in the Olympic distance Welsh Senior Triathlon, beating more than 130 competitors.
The 29-year old senior lifeguard, who is now working his second season as an RNLI lifeguard, competed at Bryn Bach Park last weekend. The competition involved swimming 1500 metres, cycling 40 kilometres and running 10 kilometres.
The week before competing in this triathlon, Oli, who lives in Tenby, achieved second position in the middle distance Welsh Senior Triathlon.
Oli said: "This is the first time I have won, so I am incredibly proud of this achievement.
"In previous years, different things have gone wrong which have prevented me from getting a good result.
"One year I had a puncture in my bike and another year, the signs were accidentally moved and I ran 2km in the wrong direction!
"As an RNLI lifeguard, I am put through intensive training and my fitness is tested throughout the summer.
"It is great to have a job that ties in with my training and keeps me at an excellent level of fitness."
Oli is due to compete in the Pembrokeshire Senior Triathlon on Saturday, July 11, at Broad Haven.
RNLI lifeguards are currently patrolling Tenby South, Tenby Castle, Tenby North, Dale, Broad Haven, Newgale, Whitesands, Newport Sands and Poppit Sands beaches between the hours of 10 am
