Thanks to the generosity of the people of Tenby and their summer visitors, over £1,900 has been raised during this year's RNLI Flag Week which was held from July 31, to August 4, the latter being Flag Day.

The collection outside Somerfield during the week raised £600.55 and thanks go to Mr. John Lucid and his staff for allowing the RNLI to make the collection there. Appreciation and thanks also go to the volunteers who so willingly gave their time.

The Abbot allowed members to collect during a two-week period on Caldey Island and the boatmen generously took the volunteers across each day when there was a sailing. The total raised on Caldey was £696.83. Thanks go to the Abbot, the boatmen, Ben Childs and Suzanne Bolton and all those on Caldey who helped.

Last but not least the local branch would like to thank those who collected individually, either by house-to-house or on the street on Flag Day itself and those caravan park owners who also participated in the collection.

The amounts they raised were as follows: Hazelbrook Caravans (Mrs. P. Sole) £30.11; Wellpark Caravans (Mrs. J. Nash) £12.79; Lodge Park Caravans (Mr. D. Williams) £38.76; Rowston Park Caravans (Mr. D. Ormond) £23.75; The Boathouse, Stackpole Quay (Mrs. Penny Jackson) £14.72; Mrs. Alma Lloyd £22.22; Mr. Terry Lloyd-Davies £40.48; Mrs. Joan Thomas £58.40; Miss Mavis Owen £75.14; Mrs. J. Davies £18.74; Mrs. Sue James £61.28; Miss Doreen Mortimer £43.54; Mrs. Doreen Emmerson and Mrs. Jean Shipley £10.87.

The stall in Tudor Square on Flag Day had to close at lunchtime because of heavy rain, but, while open, sold goods to the amount of £156.15 and the collection box on the stall held £32.29.
