LIKE a modern-day Basil Fawlty, Rhod Gilbert takes over a family-run hotel in Tenby in Wednesday, October 1's episode of Rhod Gilbert's Work Experience on BBC One Wales, 10.35 pm. Given all the responsibilities of duty manager on the first weekend of the summer holidays, he's tested to the limit as he attempts to give 80 guests an unforgettable experience, but what will the holidaymakers make of his unusual management style? Rhod quickly learns there's more to running a successful hotel than meets the eye. As a top stand-up comedian, he's made a living out of complaining - at some length - about the absurdities of modern life. But will he learn to care about perfect pillows, neatly folded toilet paper and all the other bizarre little details that supposedly mark the boundary between hotel heaven and hotel hell? Rhod also turns his hand to event management and organises a competition to find the best sandcastle. But will he actually get anyone to take part?
