At the recent annual meeting in Reynalton, a number of community and charity events were planned.
These include a Macmillan Big Coffee Morning on September 28, in the village hall, and a summer walk in aid of Tenovus to take place on Saturday, June 23. The walk will start at the village hall and follow the road to Templeton airfield, make a circuit of the airfield and return by the road to the village hall where there will be tea and cakes. Those wishing to do a shorter circuit can join at any point. Others are asked to support this with sponsorship (call 01834 891336) and to look out for local posters advertising the big coffee morning later this year.
It was also reported at the meeting that the hedges alongside the roads in and out of the village were littered with a variety of items - cans, bottles, takeaway packaging - and a group spent an hour last week on a litter-pick up and down the roads to Reynalton and Carne, gathering a good-sized load.
Thank you to Colin Campbell, of Beechwood Park, for organising this and disposing of the litter, and to those who picked the litter too!
We would now like to keep the hedges clean and people passing in and around the village are asked to bag and bin their rubbish (it isn’t even necessary to take it home, there is a rubbish bin in the centre of Reynalton, next to the telephone box!).
