demic school year have been revised to allow for the additional royal wedding bank holiday, which falls within the Easter holidays.

In order to avoid disruption, this additional bank holiday will be taken at the end of the summer term.

The revised dates also take account of two additional inset closure dates allocated by the Welsh Assembly Government for this year, which will be taken either side of the Easter holiday.

However, these will only be taken if a school has not had to close due to snow. The schools affected will inform parents directly.

The spring 2011 term will end on Thursday, April 14, and summer term will begin on Wednesday, May 4. The summer half-term will begin on Monday, May 30, and end on Friday, June 3. Summer term will end on Friday, July 15.

The last day for pupils will be Thursday, July 14. Friday, July 15, is a discretionary inset day for staff. Monday, July 18, is a directed closure day, while Tuesday, July 19, is a holiday in lieu of the royal wedding bank holiday.

Next year's royal jubilee will take place on June 4 during half-term and will be taken on Friday, December 23, 2012, adding one day to the Christmas holiday.
