Luminita Berariu returns to Wales this month for the 11th year running, to hold a new series of musical training workshops for singers and pianists.
Musicians joining in these workshops should bring a prepared piece of music which they play or sing before fellow performers and members of the public who will then watch and listen to the fascinating process of observing an expert de-constructing the music and then suggesting ways of re-building it, with immediate improvements apparent to all.
Luminita has a vast experience in both fields, being the senior repetitateur at the Romanian State Opera in Bucharest, as well as being a solo pianist, chamber music performer; giving regular recitals in the capital's main concert hall - The Atheneum.
She broadcasts on state radio and has played in London, Paris, New York, Amsterdam, North Africa, the Far East and nearer to home, has delighted audiences at the Tenby Arts Festival, Lampeter House and Rhos-y-Gilwen.
These workshops are very popular; places are limited and quickly get filled. So, if any budding pianist or singer wants to take part, they need to ring 'Friends of the Classics' on (01834) 842523 in order to secure a place.
Venues are: Carmarthen Operatic Society - Wednesday, October 15; Rhos-y-Gilwen, Rhoshill - Sunday, October 19; Haverfordwest Operatic Society - Thursday, October 23; Tenby - Sunday, October 26.
These workshops are made possible due to the support given by grants from Pembrokeshire County Council and Arts Council Wales.
They are open to all pianists and vocalists of any age or ability.
