The Welsh College of Horticulture is keen to get Tenby and Whitland gardening. This lead gardening college in Wales is working with Pembrokeshire adult education in Tenby and Ysgol Dyffryn Taf in Whitland to promote gardening in the two towns.

There will be Start Garden Design in Whitland from Monday, January 12, and Start Gardening in Tenby on Tuesday nights, from January 13, at Greenhill School, with a view to getting local residents confident enough to tackle their own back yards.

Those who attend will be awarded a nationally recognised certificate which they can display in their potting shed or on the mantelpiece!

The colleges want to provide horticultural education for the beginner as well as the keen gardener or expert. For the future, the plan is to bring the Royal Horticultural Society gardening certificate to the area, as well as higher level courses.

The message from the college is 'As spring approaches - get gardening'. Courses in the area begin in January.

The college is also keen to work with local community groups who may want to develop a plot of land that will benefit their community.
