Last Saturday, the De Valence Pavilion in Tenby once again showed why it is the premier entertainments venue in West Wales when it played host to Renaissance 2.
The very first Renaissance event was in November last year and Renaissance 2 maintained the theme, the brainchild of Nicky Lloyd of having the 'right people' in the 'right place' at the 'right time' dancing and partying to all the 'right tunes.'
The Renaissance mission statement is 'Bringing on back the good times' and that certainly proved to be the case on Saturday when over 450 people partied the night away to classic '70s and '80s floor filler tunes chosen by the people themselves.
Each Renaissance event also serves as a charity fundraiser and Cancer Research UK is the Renaissance affiliated charity. Also present and organising a raffles for a worthy cause were the volunteers representing the 'Save the Jubilee Park' group.
There was live music from Gary Gary and the Collective and an excellent DJ set from Anne-Marie and Nikki, of West Coast DJ's.
Special thanks to Andrew Davies, Christine Brown, Cath Graham, Darren Coates, Mally and Tracy Coates, Bruce Campbell, Phil Kidney and Crew, Gary Gary and The Collective, West Coast DJ's, Martin Burke, Geoff and Pat Somner, Alyson Phillips and the 450 or so party-goers who brought the smiles and the proof that Tenby, and indeed the De Valence Pavilion, is 'alive and kicking.'
