The Mayor of Tenby has issued a plea for a ‘bright idea’ to indicate the beginning and end of the two minute silence to mark Remembrance Sunday.
At 11am on each Remembrance Sunday a two minute silence is observed at war memorials and other public spaces across the UK to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.
“We have been told that the coastguard are no longer permitted to let off the maroon rockets any longer, to signify the commencement and end of the two minute silence as part of the Remembrance Sunday service in Tenby which falls on November 13,” explained the Mayor, Clr. Laurence Blackhall.
“What we are looking for is someone to come forward with a bright idea to indicate the start and end of this important tradition,” he continued, with Anyone with any suggestions are asked to contact the town clerk Andrew Davies at the town council offices at the De Valence on 01834 842730.
