Sir,

Every year at this time I buy and wear a red poppy and a white poppy. I know that the money from red poppies is used to help the injured soldiers, and that the money from white poppies does this too, but also supports, through the Red Cross, the needs of the countless civilian victims of war.

Red poppies are readily available in our towns. White peace poppies, although they have been worn for more than 70 years, are harder to come by. However, they will be available at a stall in Narberth car park on Friday, November 4, 10 am to 2 pm.

The following day, Saturday, November 5, at 11 am, there will be the Service of Remembrance for all victims of war. As usual, this will take place in Narberth at the Celtic Cross by the junction of Spring Gardens and St. James Street. It will be led by the Rector of Narberth, Rev. Peter Lewis. Do join with us if you can.

John Whittaker,

Ludchurch.
