The sixth annual Civic Week pool knockout took place last week at Narberth RAOB. With 55 entries in all, it was whittled down to the final eight. The eventual winner was Richard Lewis who has now won this competition three years on the trot. Well done. Runner-up was Mike Phillips, while semi-finalists were Will Vallance and Paul Evans. Quarter-finalists were Nick Phillips, Andrew Thomas, Aron Keane and John Goble (who was unable to attend). The game of the night came in the first round when Richard met Nick and both produced some fine potting and Nick will be annoyed he didn't win. Many thanks to Sylvia and Cliff of the RAOB, Colin Hallwood (tournament organiser) and Narberth Pool League for donating the trophies.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the afternoon concluded with a highly entertaining fun and game session.

CIVIC WEEK RAMBLE

After a photo call with the Mayor, Clr. David Norcross, the group of walkers (and three dogs) set off through town to St. Andrew's Church, where the old vicarage path was taken to Stoneditch Mill. From Valley Gate, a series of field paths and lanes was followed via Cilfoden road, Grove Gate and Molleston Back, to the historic church of Mounton, now in a sadly ruinous state. Brief halts were made to admire the splendid views of the countryside as far as the Preseli Hills. The party returned to Narberth through Canaston Wood and along Valley Road and Carding Mill Lane.

Many congratulations on a job well done.
