Wales Air Ambulance is now raising vital funds by recycling your unwanted old mobile 'phones For every mobile phone donated, Wales Air Ambulance will receive up to £15!

So don't leave your old phones gathering dust when £15 can keep the helicopter in the air for a minute! The way to do this is simple. There are freepost envelopes at various outlets and you just pick one up, pop your old mobile 'phone inside and drop the envelope into a post-box. It costs you nothing except a minute or two of your time and is also beneficial for the environment.

The local businesses that have kindly agreed to hold a stock of envelopes to give out to those interested in recycling and help this life saving charity are: Pete's Plaice, Harbour Slipway Tenby; Seasons Fabrics, Carmarthen Road Kilgetty; Top to Toe, Meyrick Street, Pembroke Dock; Phoenix Motors (next to Vincent Davies), Haverfordwest; Williams Vision, High Street, Narberth; The Post Office, Goodwick.

The students at Pembrokeshire College are also collecting old mobiles and through a series of initiatives there, will raise significant monies this year.

Hilary Harvey, community fund-raiser, said: "We have found that the people of Pembrokeshire are very keen to support this initiative and many have taken the freepost envelopes when we have explained the benefits at recent events and talks. "There are probably lots of old unused mobiles that are just taking up space and could be turned into life saving cash for this charity."

If any group or individual requires a large stock of freepost envelopes, please contact Hilary at [email protected]">[email protected]

Added Hilary: "Our thanks to all those who have already donated mobiles and to all the businesses that support us by having collecting boxes at their premises or have given prizes and pledges for our forthcoming auction and dance in Haverfordwest on Friday, November 10. Tickets for this can be bought at Williams Vision, Narberth, and at Seasons Fabrics, Kilgetty, or by contacting me by email. All are most welcome"
