Sir,

Can I ask your readers, 'What do you look for in a summer holiday?'

How about spending your break cleaning spires, vacuuming stained glass windows, getting stuck into cemetery conservation or helping with the maintenance of a cathedral?

As a volunteer, CSV Cathedral Camps - run by Community Service Volunteers - is one of the projects I'm involved with where volunteers can make a difference to Britain's heritage.

Throughout July and August, I'm looking to recruit other young people to take part in Cathedral Camps, where volunteers get the chance to sleep on-site in some of the prettiest and most unusual locations.

This year, we have 20 camps throughout the country and it's a great way to meet other young people as well as make an impact on protecting our architectural heritage.
