A record number of competitors sped into action Sunday morning to line the streets of Tenby for the annual Tenby 10K run, with a record time also winning the event.

"We had a record number of entries with 366 taking part in the run, and the weather was perfect for running," said Ann Rowell, of St. Clears TROTs, who organise the popular race.

"Congratulations to all the runners that took part, their support has helped to make this year's race the biggest yet," she added.

Both the overall male and female winners, hailed from Swansea Harriers, with Dewi Griffiths coming in with a record time of 30.56, and also winning a weekend break with FBM Holidays, while the first lady Alaw Beynon Thomas managed a time of 38.11, winning a weekend break at The Fourcroft Hotel.

Other winners included: Aled Howell (in the OM category); 1. M40 - Anthony Powell; 1. M50 - Alan Davies; Clara Evans (in the OF category); 1. F35 - Shan Roberts; 1. F45 - Mary Bowen Rees.
